AKG Sweden is looking for a Special Educator for value-creating assignments - IPSU!

IPSU - Individual Educational Support in Education is a valuable and qualitative service that the Swedish Public Employment Service procures with the ultimate goal of taking its strategic responsibility within labor market policy.

Your main task will be to map the participants' individual conditions in relation to the requirements imposed by the educational situation and provide recommendations for pedagogical and technical adaptations that lead to the participant becoming independent and successfully completing the education with a passing result.

The role involves, in general:

  • Conducting qualitative mappings of our participants' abilities and needs related to the requirements set within the framework of the current education
  • Testing aids where applicable
  • Collaboration with specialist colleagues such as audiologists, special educators, vision pedagogues, sign language competency, or occupational therapists
  • Collaboration and dialogue with the Public Employment Service at the local level
  • Collaboration and dialogue with the various actors conducting the educational initiatives relevant to our participants, e.g., teachers from providers of labor market education, folk high schools, and preparatory education

In collaboration with coordinators, you will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment, matching, and management of colleagues who provide educational support to our participants
  • Scheduling and planning our educational work with the participants
  • Ordering aids that are relevant for each participant
  • Reporting and documentation in the client's administrative system
  • Follow-ups and quality work

At AKG Sweden, we work in teams, and in the role of IPSU specialist, you will be responsible, together with the Quality Manager, for ensuring that we conduct a delivery we are proud of through our internal processes and you are a key person in the ongoing development work.

We know from experience that to succeed in your role as a specialist within this assignment, you need to have solid knowledge of how various functional variations can affect a learning situation, and you have a broad toolbox to draw your recommendations from.

In addition to basic knowledge, you should have an interest and curiosity to continuously develop yourself regarding news and research concerning information and communication technology, as we are keen to stay updated in this rapidly evolving area.

You are responsible for our reporting back to the client, which is why a strong aptitude for documentation will facilitate your work. Since the role involves many contacts within and outside the organization, you need to be able to build trusting relationships with people easily.

Formal competence requirements

  • Documented experience working with people with disabilities in an educational situation
  • Documented experience working with cognitive aids in an educational situation
  • Teacher with a degree and further training as a special educator

It is an advantage if you are proficient in sign language.

Employment conditions

  • Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period
  • Part-time/full-time according to agreement
  • Individual salary setting

The position is located in Örebro. Travel within the county occurs, which is why it is important that you have a driver's license and access to your own car.
